Day 2

Day full of noms, and nothing productive at all...
Grabbed breakfast with my family and headed to dim sum with my sister, her boyfriend and two of her boyfriend's friends. (Like I said, day full of non-stop noms)

The dim sum place we went to is over 30 years old, an old style dim sum restaurant where you have to find your own seats and take your own dim sum from the food carts (aka the Hunger Games, if you don't fight for your seat or your food you're done.) How it works is simple, the food cart ladies will load the trolleys with dim sum, and they "park" in a certain place in the restaurant, literally once they leave the kitchen a mob of hungry people follow them. The dim sum ladies have a lot of attitude, they won't serve you unless they're "parked" and if you mess up the 'system' they'll give you an earful (NOT FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE). The only thing you're really given service for is the tea - they're famous for Pu'er (my favorite), and guess what else they're famous for? ...Lotus paste buns :3 :3 :3 :3 <3

Went to the IFC mall to look at a new wallet :), though I didn't get one (I couldn't decide, typical.) I saw some pretty nice ones at Kate Spade. Took a ferry across some inlet and casually got lost in one of the biggest malls I've been to yet. Harbour City Center, 3 connecting malls. My sister and her boyfriend  and I went our separate ways in the mall, I thought I could find them easily but.. nope.. got lost for probably half an hour or something. I do not like that mall.

Noms for dinner was a feast of seafood, considering that Hong Kong is pretty well known for it's seafood. We met up with my parents and my uncle at the market to buy seafood to be brought to a restaurant to be prepared for dinner. I almost knocked some lady over in the market place because it was so damn crowded (sorrynotsorry). Later on we met up with my grandpa (YehYeh) and my aunt and the feast began at a restaurant called Gum Bo.

Menu for tonight's dinner was:

Cheesy lobster
2 green onion/ginger steamed fishes
Steamed conch
Garlic steamed scallops (the size of my bowl!)
Steamed whole chicken
Gai lan stir fry with ginger
Pea tips stir fry with garlic
Black bean sauce with some kind of seashell
Chili pepper and salted with some kind of prawns
Mango pudding
Green bean soup
Coconut pudding

Went to Forever21 after dinner to look for clothes for a short family trip I'll be going for a few days for New Years :) Location will be revealed soon! Gotta keep you guys hooked to this blog (loljk).

Top left: Me, my sister, her boyfriend Joey and Cindy - the friend who brought us to the dim sum :)
Bottom Left: a sign in the dim sum place saying they don't take tips (aka you can't bribe them to give you food first LOL)
Middle: art display in the IFC mall
Top right: view from the ferry harbour (it was foggy)
Bottom right: seafood market :)
