im too lazy to go into details, although not much happened, but i dont like typing on my tablet so blegh.
Stayed at home all morning watching PPL adddddddddddddnd m oped around until noon time when my mom made plans for dimsum with her family friends and grandma. So to save myself from dying of boredom, iventured off to the aPM mall to run some last minute errands before i leave. iended up only getting like 1/3 of it done, so i'llfinish it tomorrow heheh..
allergies stared kickingin, and then my mom tells me the plans afterher dimsum meet, we'd be having dinner with some church family friends and then hanging out with my other family friends and possibly sleeping overbecausetheres like a million typhoon warnings for these few days..
so my mom sent me home to pack some overnight stuff andi mether up at the mtr station and met up with auntie may for buffet dinner at Kudos, some buffet resturant at a hotel in Causeway Bay, where uncle stanley joined us after work. okay, seriously, the buffet here is waybetter than anybuffets in vancouver... they got fresh seafood (oysters, lobster, shrimp, crab, mussels, etc) and cold cut meats, sushi bar and desserts that were pretty good. i havent eaten much throughout my whole trip here so today was probaby the most i've eaten.
right now im at my family friend's house (lee suksuk and sue ee, the parents of the married couple to-be that i talked about.. but the couple left this morning so i cant hangout with them :'( sigh foreveralone) the typhoon hasnt hit too badly yet, although it feels like its starting as i speak, but apparently it movesfast (so much for geo, sorry ms dj, i forgot everything alredy LOL) its just tht we live on the opposite ends of where sue ee / lee suksuk (suksuk mens uncle) lives, and they wnna play mahjong so they invited us over for the night (aka me staring aimlessly at my tablet and tv while the adults play the night away, but i dont mind, i havent seen them for so long) woooooohooooo, thats my dy basiclly. my neck hurts from looking down on this tablet on my lap and the keyboard just doesnt like to cooperate, so im going to finish this post right.....now.

future plans
this is a random blog post about something that i've been thinking about lately after meeting my family friends. i mean its a temporary plan for the future but its something to think about and maybe even look forward to. after i (hopefully) graduate from university, if i havent found a job yet, im going to go jointhe Latitude volunteering program overseas for 5 months and then go visit/work short term in the video and film production that (hopefully) my family friends are still working at. itd be pretty cool to exchange to fiji or ghana, but then again if i joined theexchange for china then i could just stay there for the long term :) obiously these are just random thoughts and plans i came up with these days, but it could totally work if i work and planned it well enough. its just that the working experience part is totally irrelevent to what im probably going to major in (psych/speech science/ developmental psych....quite undetermined, but will probably one of the listed!) itd just be a good learning experience, thats all :) if the Latitude exchange wasnt 5 months long then i'd totally do it during summer or something :\ heh.... but yep. thats my temporary future plan for the time being ! wooohoooo, thanks for reading.. and if you're wondering why my punctuation is suckier than usual its because im on my tablet, heeee.

IM TOO LAZY, DAYS 9-13
I've been so lazy since my last post, because I've just been...lazy. LOL
I'm just going to summarize the last 6 days because I've been eating and shopping almost everyday, so I'll just blog about some highlights :)
Day 9:
-Brunch with cousin Diana and her bf @ Brick Lane (western style), shopped at expensive malls (my cousin's fav) and witnessed a bajillion screaming females (all ages) screaming at the top of their lunchs when the A&F bus full of half naked models passed by the new A&F store ==, had crepe for tea time :)
-Had dinner with ex-CMCC-ers :D at a pasta place in Mei Foo, Attendees: Sharon, Zoe, SamSam, Andrew, Maria. We had to give the table back after an hour so we chilled in McDonald Cafe and Zoe brought me to LKF.
-LKF's pretty cool, a huge mixture of people; went home around 12 so we just chilled at a lounge place for an hour or so
Day10:
-HK style (okay, obviously it's HK style, but its what we call it when everyone skewer/grills their own food) for dinner 8) famjam time
Day 11: Macau
-went with my uncle/aunt+her mom/my mom and my grandma, customs took a good 1.5hrs and had a portugeuse style lunch, chilled and watched The House of Dancing Water, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO WHOEVER GOES TO MACAU. Think cirque-du-soleil but on water, and olympic style diving. It is amazing.
-had chinese food for dinner, wayyyyyy too chatty of a waiter and the food was meh ._.
Day 12:
-dimsum with super long-time family friends, they've known me since I was born :) Stanley, auntie Sue and I finally got to meet Stanley's fiancee :D YAY! You have no idea how excited I was to meet her and to catch up with Sue EE and Stanley (they left Vancouver a couple years ago, we were family friends since HK and moved to Vancouver around the same time) Hehe, I really like LinLin (fiancee), she's from Ha'er Bin and she works with Stanley and his dad in the film production business; super nice :)
-shopped a bit and went home a bit, went out with mom and cousin to eat tea time @ Pizza Hut :) and got alterations done for pants
Day 13:
-watched BRAVE with mami :D woohoo, but in cantonese version; so it wasn't as good as I hoped it to be ._. but it was still a good movie :)
-tea time @ Fairwood: soya sauce chicken leg w. red bean ice + bbq duck lai fen with bubble tea
-dinner at grandpa's !
I am done my days in review! Woohoo, easier than I thought. Watching PLL and sniffling from allergies again.. leaving in 3 more days! Have some errands left, but I'm determined to get them all done by tomorrow. Thanks for reading :D

Why I would never live in Hong Kong
This post might come off a little rude and harsh. But the people I ran into today were way worse and gave me the reason to write this post.
The environment, is one thing. I get nose and eye irritations from the pollution and stuffiness in the air, plus everything is so condensed and croweded I don't think I would be able to survive the business.
After today's incident, the environment comes second., to the top reasons why I would never live in Hong Kong. I would probably burst an arterial vein every day if I were to live here.
It happened at a bakery in the underground MTR station, my mom went inside to do the bread shopping and I stood outside to wait, because the store was super tiny and crowded. Enter a man who's visually impaired, who asks one of the workers to count how much money he has in his wallet. A few minutes later a 50something year old woman enters the shop. During that time, the man was in the shop asking for help from the workers, because he couldn't tell what kind of bread was in front of him. He was ignored until (not even 3 minutes of that 50something yr old woman entered) the woman started complaining to the worker how she couldn't see the bread because of the man in front was blocking her view. She said it in a way, that was directed at the worker, but purposely indirected to the man. Okay, fine the man was a little big but...
1. He's visually impaired, so let the man take his time
2. He's been asking for help, which the stupid workers were too imcompetent or deaf to notice
3. He was there first, patience woman.
4. Seriously?
He heard her. Okay, no shit he heard her, everyone in the store could hear that irritating screechy voice of hers. And HE apologized and moved aside, that's when the worker finally decided to answer the man's question, and the 50smthng yr old woman moved along. It was straight-up rude, and I couldn't believe that those situations actually happen.
I wish I could've done something and I admit that I was a little chickened out to do so, it all happened so fast. I think I probably would've started tearing up if I told the woman she was being completely rude, because I'm the type to tear up if I'm too emotional (too pissed/upset). I almost cried when I told my mom what had just happened. Standing there and doing nothing was one of the biggest regrets and a valuable lesson that I won't forget.
What is humanity anymore? I don't know, I can't say I was a good samaritan in the whole situation because I just stood there as it all happened. But at least I've learned my own lesson, to not be a bystander and to actually do something about it instead of blogging about it right here.
But those people in the store have not one single courteous bone in them. Its that 50smthng y.o. woman that are teaching her children and grand children... and teach them what? The only way to get what you want is to be completely rude and obnoxious about it? That kind of behaviour and lack of compassion is being passed on from generation to generation. That is how we are our own enemies, the worst side of ourselves is what's ruining our world.
When I told my mom about it, she brought up another incident that I completely forgot about, that happened during our trip here in HK.
We arrived at our stop at the MTR station, and when the doors open the people up front would-not-move. Okay, I get it that it's not your stop but smarten up a little and make way for the people who do need to get off. That's when a man from behind us starting yelling (pretty rudely) at the few people standing like a statue blocking the door. I got kind of irritated because I didn't want to miss my stop, and also (and I do do this in Vancouver as well).. if I were standing in the way of the door I would just step out and let the people through. The chances of you not being able to get back on are slim to none (actually it happened to me once, but w.e), especially at that time of the day where there weren't even that many people getting on.
I just don't understand how people could just do and say what they want, and have no shame to it. They don't apologize when the push and shove their way out. I'm guessing its the upbringing that creates who we are. But a simple "please", "thank you", "excuse me" or "sorry" comes a long way. Those words come naturally in every situation possible, because it's just common sense... manners that shouldn't be reminded of every single minute. You're not wasting any time by saying "thank you" to the bus driver or "sorry" to the person you ran into. What the hell, I even say "sorry" to the people who run into me... (I even say sorry when I smash at someone during badminton HAHA)
Lessons of the day:
1. Don't just be a bystander if something wrong is happening. Do something about it.
-even if it makes you want to cry.
2. Thank you, Please, Sorry, and Excuse Me's are vital, it might remind other people to say those few words too
3. Not everyone is brought up the same way, try not to judge and label them as imbeciles right away. (Even though they probably are, but not every person is as fortunate to be raised in a civil family)
4. Don't apologize if someone runs into you (it's not your fault)

Day 8
Super lazy day until the afternoon! Woke up at 1030 and stayed at home all day, watching Modern Family and waiting for babe to get off work so we could webcam/msn! I miss him a whole lot and it kinda sucks, because by the time I'm back in Vancouver, he leaves to Edmonton for 2 weeks. That's a total of 30 days... super stressful being seperated aleady, plus the time zones are completely diff so it makes it more depressing for me (he has work to distract him!)
That's when the busy-ish part starts, after le bf goes to sleep, Belle calls me up to meet her in Central. Around a 45minute commute from my end, and I went there OBAMASELF and I still arrived before she did :) She's leaving HK today, first traveling by train to ShenZhen and then flying to ChongQing her hometown. We met up at IFC mall, Aretta on her way. Initially we were going to eat at Agnes B. Cafe, but with the little time we realized she had left, we ran around the giant mall and got lost until we found GREYHOUND restaurant (even the symbol is the same as the bus from Van..weird). Ordered a carbonara pasta, she got a pad thai. We literally beasted it and finished within 10 minutes, by then she had to leave and Aretta just arrived. LOL so we basically saw her off at the mtr station and parted our ways 8) I traveled home alone for the 2nd time today :D WOOOHOOOOOOO!
Another chill day tmrw :)

Day 7
Had a pretty good day today :)
Woke up early to meet up with my aunt (baak leung) at pier 4 to head to Lama Island (my favorite place to go to when in HK)
Lama Island is yet another typical tourist place, just that the only transit there is via ferry and the island is very much like a country side with LOTS of green (nature, plants, fields, beaches!) First stop that we went to was this little boutique where my aunt said the owner travels around alot and buys things to sell for his store. I found a cute bracelet, where its string woven with blue-ish clear crystals.
Next we went to AH POR TOFU PUDDING. A store/stand where its really just a large roof supported by metal poles and trees from ~~nature~~. There are only 3 items on the pudding, hot tofu menu: cold tofu pudding and soya milk. LOL that's really all there is at that tofu place. But it was alright, other than the roof and uneven floors it was all outdoors (no walls).
We went to the beach afterwards, it was SO NICE. Way nicer than the ones in Vancouver. The water is actually clear and warm, and the sand will NOT cut your feet. I went knee deep into the ocean water and picked up polished beer bottle shards :)
I've decided that if I were to pick a place to retire to, I'd move to Lama Island. Its such a quiet and pretty place. There's actually alot of Caucasians living there too, most of them were British or French. The only transit there would be by feet or bike, other than the major transit from anywhere to the island which is the ferry. :) :) :) :)
Grabbed a quick lunch at an 'Italian' pub/pizzeria, got a salumi (salami?) pizza and a taga-something pasta (seafood inwhite wine sauce pasta). There was this one foreveralone guy who reminded me of Brian Puspos at one table, and at the other was a couple and a third wheeler. The couple was kinda weird, an Italian guy that didn't speak much English and an Asian (chinese?) girl that reminded me a bit of Snooki... but she didn't seem to understand her bf very much. LOL love is universal ?
Did you know you can take a ferry to cross an inlet? LOL wait, thats the seabus isn't it.... NEVERMIND! On the way home to my grandpa's we took the sea bus and had tea time at 85 C bakery. The bakery was found by this Taiwanese guy who studied japanese baking methods/styles and started his own line of bakeries. Bread was legit, and I don't usually eat bread. Though there was this really annoying reet behind me who kept hovering in line (seriously, personal bubble). I just wish Vancouver's bread could look just as appealing.
WOooHoooo! Almost done my post! For dinner we met my "gu pors" so relatives of mine that are mainly related to my grandpa. One of them is my grandpa's little sister, the other 4 were all (first?) cousins of my grandpa, so they were all super tight. They're a chatty bunch, and they really love having family dinners, especially with my grandpa. I haven't seen them for at least 8-10 years. One of them wouldn't/couldn't stop making remarks on how grown up and big I was. Yes, big. She said I was a really big girl (tall and built) and asked if I did sports. LOL sports? I swim, but that's it. HAHA seriously did not make my self esteem any better, but I'll take it as a compliment ;) Seafood dinner all around and everyone was super happy :) Realized my aunt looks alot like them (well, duh.. they're related right?)

Day 5 & 6 pt. 2 , late post
IM SO LAZYYYYYYYYYY WHYYYYYYYYYY...
I've been so caught up with trying to switch my dorm building that I'm starting to forget things, and it doesn't help when my future (maybe) roommate DOESNT GIMME HER CONTACT INFO! how am I supposed to get shit done when I have no idea who my roomie is...
Anyways....
Day 5, was pretty much the same as all the other chilld days.. Grabbed breakfast with my mom and grandma at one of the malls (at the Tsui Wah restaurant). And shopped around the mall for a bit. Got something for le bf and my grandma got a cute little blazer :)
Afterwards me and my mom headed to this mall that sells everything from wholesale to single pieces, but nothing really caught my eye :\ my mom on the other hand....
We decided to go Kwai Fong and grab a super late lunch (more like afternoon meal) at a little cafe in the newer mall (LUX?), got a carbonara spaghetti and my mom got a chicken drumstick w. salad :)
And we continued our shopping spree at the mall across, the one we went to before where everything was SUPER cheap :) wooohoooo~ didn't end up leaving until 9ish so we decided to grab food when we got off the mtr station.
We got chicken/chinese mushroom steamed rice and steamed lotus bun at the MTR station! Whatwhat, where's that in Vancouver? We only have jugo juice... And its right when you order they give it to you within 3 minutes. LOL SO EEEEEffficientttt! And it tastes so legit.
Got home and of course, watched the olympic games until the AM.

Day 5 & 6 [pt.1]
I got lazy, and I really didn't do much other than shopping, eating and watching the olympics.
Day 4
Sunday! Of course, that means I went to Sunday mass at Holy Family, where the priest a Chinese speaking Indian! Woohoo, his Chinese wasn't too smooth but it was pretty good I guess. The mass just felt really long (either mass @ CMCC was sped up to make up for the homily, or that every song in the HK mass was sung 10x slower).
Had dimsum @ HK Polytechnic Uni, (yep... that campus has TWO dimsum restaurants in the main building AND the student residence there has a full ocean view...UBC has trees.) And lucky us, that was the same day as FROSH for the first years. I kind of started panicking about university at that point, but the food distracted me :).
Went to the HK style supermarket with my mom, uncle/aunt, to buy groceries for dinner. Since the housekeeper has Sundays off, the family is left to figure out the one meal of the week which seems like a big deal ._." So my mom got really REALLY excited to get everyone involved in Sunday dinner where everyone is in charge of making one dish.
HK markets are messy but organized (if that makes sense), its seperated into sections of: Meat, Frozen Meat, Vegetables, Fruits, Fresh Seafood and Frozen seafood. Each section has 3-4 stands/stalls of basically the same thing, where the owners across from each other would chat on top of customers.
What I love about these markets is it's friendliness and the neighbourhood feeling, because everyone knows each other. And if they don't have what you need, they'll recommend you to other stores (plus its cheap and fresh).
Went home and everyone started cooking :)
Except for one of my cousins (who shall not be named, but arrived at the household with his Lolita girlfriend/now a permanent resident in this household...WITH plenty of time to cook or even make a salad *which my other cousin and his gf did ._.) And my grandma (she was exempt from cooking of course, since she's the boss lady)
DINNER:
ME: chicken fried udon
MOM: lemongrass pork and green apple/celery salad
BIG UNCLE/AUNT: honey garlic chicken wings
COUSIN/GF: crab meat and tobiko salad
UNCLE/AUNT: salt roasted duck tongue (yep.)/salty egg yolk fried prawns
-Salmon sashimi we brought over from Vancity
Side note: I really like my cousin's gf (not the Lolita one, no not her, I can't talk to her. She's only a year older than me and I really can't find anything to talk about with her, idk why... lets call her K).
Ah Se, is the one I like though. Even though I can't really find anything to talk to her about either (maybe that's just my problem), although she's really quiet you can tell she's really paying attention to what you're saying. She actually makes an effort to talk to people (esp me... maybe because I'm the youngest one there or something, but she never ends up saying much). She seems more interested in what we have to say than anything else. The only thing I don't get is how she's still with my cousin for 2+ years, because honestly he doesn't treat her very well (maybe just in front of us, but he's very hostile/un-chivilry-ous (i cant spell for shit right now).
SIDE NOTE 2: I almost cried when the Malaysian badminton player for singles lost to Lin Dan from China. I really wanted him to win and beat China for once :(
*although I support China 99%, I think they should still give other countries a chance at medals/gold...
Day 4

Turtles
My cousin's turtles are constantly trying to escape the glass bowl. I'm trying to give them a name, but I don't know what yet :(
Day 4
I AM IN BED AT 10:35PM. Something that never happens in Vancouver 8) But mainly because the TV is in front of my bed and the Olympics is on (Women's badminton Singles China vs China LOL)
Today was such a relaxing day :) just not for my feet though. I've been wearing the same pair of Aldo sandals for the entire trip, and my heel feels like it's going to burst. Grabbed breakfast with my mom (let's just say, unless said otherwise my mom is always with me), grandma, and my aunt/uncle (kau fu and kau mo; oldest), and my aunt/uncle (sam kau fu, sam kau mo; youngest). Breakfast was the usuals at a Hong Kong style (obviously) cafe. :)
And basically shopped afterwards at the less modern malls for a good 4-5 hours with my mom, halfway shopping we grabbed lunch with my Sam Kau Fu/Sam Kau Mo @ a viet/thai restaurant NOMNOMNOM
What I got today:
-shirts for me, bf and Dai J (special order)
-MUJI, stock that shit up
and that was it ._. I'm deciding what colour sweatshirt I should get, dark green, heather gray or cream (btw its a sweatshirt for men, and i fit perfectly into an L ...*cry*)
Stuff I need to go back to the APM mall for (depending on stock/time/$):
-bobble head for bf
-shirt for bf
-moleskin journal (if it really is cheaper than Van)
-MUJI (more school supplies)
-phone thing for sister/bf
*any UNIQLO store for sweatshirts*
Thats it for today, because I literally just chilled duh fuq out. Tomorrow however, I am going to church and then every single member of the fam is in charge of making a dish for dinner tomorrow :)
*excited* (not as excited as my mom though, all my aunts and uncles were just like: "can I buy drinks?" "can I cut fruit?" LOL, fyi I'm cutting fruits for tmrw.)

Day 3
Okay, to be honest before I took my shower I was going to half-ass this post, because I was hella tired. But after the shower, I'm feeling way better so I guess I won't fully half-ass this post. LOL
So this post is going to come off a little bit rude on my behalf... you might or might not understand what I mean. The day started out disturbingly shitty, it all started with a ride on the MTR to meet up with my mom's friends at Dong Chong station.
Let me just tell you two facts:
1: I will always keep a distance from middle aged single (or just downright creepy looking) men.
2. I would choose a bus ride over subway/canada line/mtr anyday, if it wasn't so time consuming.
This mtr ride has proven 2 of the points I've listed above. There was a middle aged single (probably) man wearing a dark blue climalite shirt with khaki pants and greasy hair (point 1), who would NOT stop staring at me and my mom's direction. Fine, whatever maybe he has wandering eyes... he then moved from the middle of the compartment to the side where we stood. Gross. Why. Ew. What. The. Fuck. and continued staring... REALLY? Okay, I'm probably profiling him right now. But if you were there with me, you'd get goosebumps. Luckily my stop was within 5 minutes (point 2) of that creeper's creepiness, and he caught me staring back at him and stopped (for a bit, seriously). I don't know if he's perverted or demented, but I'm going to say he's both. THE END.
After we finally met up with my mom's friends (they all worked with each other @ HSBC like 20 years ago... all moms) we took a 45 minute bus ride to Tai O. A tourist sight seeing place where there isn't much to do but walk around and take pictures of nature and old villages. There are however, dolphins in the area 8) We took a 20 minute ferry out the docks and saw 3 pink-gray dolphins around the boat :)
The temperature was at least 35degrees, the amount of sweat my body produced was horrendous. Tai O's specialty, might I add is: Ha Gou (shrimp paste), Cha Gou (tea pudding thing) and San Sui Tofu Pudding ("mountain water"). Lunch was lousy, the dishes were small, seafood wasn't fresh and the waiter was overly antsy and anal. He just doesn't like to take orders (something that's vital to his job) and when he actually listens to us, he acted like we were reading him the dictionary and cut us off, numerous times (seriously?). We went to try the tofu pudding afterwards, which tastes like crap compared to what my mom can make. The only thing my mom and her C-lai (auntie friends) approved of were the tea pudding things, and chinese mochi's this old grandma sold in the village we walked through.
Alright! Highlight of the day (other than the dolphins :3) After a long sweaty day of walking, one of my mom's friends stayed behind when everyone left, and brought us to a mall in Kwai Fong (no, not LKF). And this mall, the clothes are the same as the ones you find in Mong Kok (shopping district) but even better and cheaper. I shopped for at least 3 hours in my Aldo sandals (and my feet died, because 1. they were aldo and 2. aldo). Seriously, if you're looking for cheap finds go to this mall, its air conditioned and theres 3 floors of shops. The clothes I found were pretty much the same shit Aritzia has, here its priced at $50-70 tax included, equivalent to CDN 10 bucks or less. What.
Grabbed a quick dinner @ SHANGHAI POPO (heheh) and went straight home. I hit my head against the bus window at least 5 times because I fell asleep, you would've thought my mom would tell me to lean on her but no... she told me that after we got off the bus ._.
TOMORROW will be a chill day.

Day 2
My nose and eyes are killing me from what I'm hoping is just allergies, if not then it's a cold (goddammit) from the bi polar temperatures between HK outdoors and the -10 degrees air conditioning indoors EVERYWHERE.
Grabbed lunch with PorPor (grandma from mom's side) and my mom at Cafe de Coral and then headed to Wan Chai with my mom to get a new HK ID since I am officially an adult when I turn 18, hence renewing my ID is needed. It was pretty quick for the first ID, made it just in time for dimsum with my YehYeh (grandpa from dad's side) and my aunt and uncle at Red Star (that's right, the same one as Vancouver). I got cute dimsum. LOL. Cute as in: buns shaped and molded into a graduates (one girl one boy), fried bbq pork things in shapes of elephants and red bean and chocolate thing into squirrels. So damn cute. I'll show you guys pictures I took when I feel productive.
Headed back to the HK immigration to do my 2nd piece of ID, which took 1.5 hours longer than needed, and by that point I was hella grumpy from my allergies and from the long wait. WAIT thats not all! Two stupidass little girls decided to fan themselves, because APPARENTLY the -20degree air conditioning there wasn't FREEZING enough for them! And they just decided to have horrible aim and I was the recieving end for all the fuckin' breeze. Grumps added one when I encountered one bratty annoying little boy, the type that you're just silently waiting for them to fall off the chair with wheels they're standing on. Literally, I almost died from having to refrain from glaring and rolling my eyes at everyone I saw at least 10923592837592837529 times today.
Went to "Hoi Yee", where my grandpa and relatives lives, met up with my aunt and uncle to buy groceries at the market. Got fresh seafood (such good food for a good price): prawns, fish, crabs, and scallops! AND I got fresh durian(YUM). Went to this "outlet mall" in the area where they sold Max Mara, Juicy, Boss and other brands for "cheaper" prices (aka, no deal unless you look for 90% off items) and had tea time snack at a cafe that was located in one of the fancy furniture stores called TREE (everything made from wood, original eh?)
Got to their apartment and my grandpa was already watching the olympics :) And my aunt showed me the photobook she made from my dad's whole fam since they were babies and when my grandparents were young. Wow, haha my dad looks exactly like how my grandpa was when he was young :) At some point we reached my grandma's page, and I felt a little sad, because I'm pretty sure YehYeh (grandpa) misses her too, its not like the quietness was any different from how he usually is (he's like my dad, quiet but lots of wisdom); but it was just a feeling I got that he misses her. I don't remember my grandma too much, aside from looking at the pictures because she passed away when I was little, but from the stories I've heard about her, she's pretty awesome :)
Diana, my cousin got home from work just for dinner, my uncle has this thing for making different chicken dishes lately so he (technically the house keeper) made lemon herb chicken and potatoes, woohooo; in addition to the already yummy dinner (plus the masago and salmon sashimi we brought from Van). Watched more Olympics and mom and I got a ride from my uncle back to PorPor's place. Now I'm watching more Olympics, not missing out on this shit. Canada women's 8 for rowing got a silver! YAYYYYYYY <3
CHEERS!

In other words:
-My yehyeh's housekeeper Linda (she's been here since I was a baby) asked if I had skin allergies when I told her I needed to take allergy meds... when I just have a bad case of acne. Sighsighsigh
-most people (not saying all, but I'm talking about 95% here) in HK don't have a single "sorry" bone in their damn body
-bad parenting point proven; HK NEWS: mom arrested for child abuse, disciplining her daughter by biting her (wtf). Doctors deemed her as mentally unsteady from having to take care of her 80 year old dad, as well as raising her daughter. But seriously, biting and scratching your daughter is NOT the way to go.
-I'm going to say "Thank you" to the bus drivers when I get off, I mean since we do that in Vancouver, why not here too right? Even if nobody shows grattitude, the bus drivers deserve a little appreciation.
-I need to spend more time with my Por Por and YehYeh.

Day 1 (technically)
Okay, technically it should be day 2 because I arrived yesterday night in Hong Kong but today was really the day that I actually did stuff. Okay fine, this would be day 2 but I want to keep my title as "Day 1 (technically) because I want to.
Day "1"
Plane ride via Cathay Pacific was alright, went through alot of turbulence... BUT I kept myself distracted and watched 4 movies: Wanderlust, Friends with Kids, LOVE, and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (or Incredibly Loud and Extremely Close...................whatever.) FUN FACT: I love plane food, I think it plays a vital part of a plane ride. Got home (house of my grandma, and 2 relative families) via ride from uncle. Hey, another FUN FACT: my cousin's (24) 18 year old girlfriend has been staying at this house since I don't know when! Not sure how I feel about it, but I'm sure there's a good reason for it.
Day 1 (...2)
This is where the fun begins. Woke up at 7am (yay jetlag) and went to grab breakfast with Porpor (grandma) and my mom :) Did some catching up with my grandma, in which she eventually tells us why Kelly (gf) stays with us; not going to share it since it's private, but it was a good reason, trust me.
ANYWAYS, shops in HK don't open until 11-12 (insane, such lazy people.) Met my BFFL Nina T. at MongKok mtr station, you have no idea how excited I was to see her. She brought her friend Sabrina which I've met a few times and heard of, but she's hella chill and hilarious. Shopped in a super cheap-buy mall, in which probably the most epic moment of the day happened.
Nina wanted to exchange a pair of shorts at one of the stores, so we hung around the mall (it doesn't open until 12...what.) until the store opened. Store opened, Nina approached salesperson (or sales bitch, same thing) to ask for a size exchange. SB tells her that the store policy was to exchanges after 2pm (wtf?) but there was literally NO ONE at that frikken mall, so Nina asked why they couldn't just do it then, since NO ONE is there for her to hard-sell to (valid point). This went on back and forth for a good 5 minutes, until Nina stopped trying to put some sense into that ...SB. Right when Nina turns away, SB immediately talks smack about Nina thinking that she doesn't understand canto. LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, never underestimate ANYONE's understanding of a different language, especially if it consists of swear words... ESPECIALLY if it's my friend Nina. She's probably one of the bravest people I know, and of course Nina turned back and straight up told her that she understood everything the SB said, and told her to pay a little respect because she is the customer afterall... But of course since SB is a B... she said "why should I pay you respect, you're not my mom" (wtfxinfinity seriously.) REALLY? That was just plain rude, but Nina had class and decided not to even bother talking to that SB anymore and we left to shop until 2pm. But I'm still so amazed by how brave Nina is, and how disturbed that SB is. Wish I could've done something but I didn't :( (sorry Nina)
We eventually walked to Woman Street (Lui Yan Gai), cheapest buys you'll ever find (maybe because its all wholesale and probably 99% fake), and since it was outdoors we were sweating like no tomorrow (yay?). We departed our ways since we all had our schedules to attend to, in which I said my good-bye for 3 months to Nina at the MTR station :( Not liking the idea of not seeing her for so long :'(
Then, the kind of but not so epic moment of my day: I MTR'd and bussed all the way home for the FIRST TIME EVER in all my years I've been in Hong Kong... That was pretty exciting, and lame... an 18 year old bussing alone for the first time in HK. HAH, but I was pretty proud of myself. I was just paranoid the entire forty minute bus ride, because I thought I got on the wrong bus.... BUT I DIDN'T AND I MADE IT HOME, FOR DINNER, LATE, BUT ALIVE (thats all the matters).
That's enough excitement and already more details than necessary of my day. I'm terrible and summarizing any sort of writing, though I'm pretty sure you've already noticed that. I'll try and cut down on my writing next post :) Until tomorrow!
Cheers,
Jody

Cheers,
Jody
